Beef Pepper Steak

My mom gave me this recipe when I was first married and I still love it!

2 tbs. oil
1 lb round steak - sliced in 1/8 " strips
1 medium onion
2 green peppers
1 T cornstarch
1/2 c cold water
2 T soy sauce (i only use 1)
1 t sugar
1 t garlic salt
1/4 t black pepper

1. Preheat oil; brown meat. Remove from pan. Add onion and peppers and
cook just till tender.

2. Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce; add sugar, garlic salt and
pepper. Pour into pan with vegetables and stir until sauce is thickened
and clear. Add meat and cook several minutes longer till heated.

** Serve over hot rice.

** Partially frozen meat is easier to slice. I sometimes make double the
sauce amount.
